• What is Hybrid Flooring

    Published on 19 Jan 2026

Hybrid flooring combines the best attributes of both vinyl and laminate, delivering durability, stability, and visual appeal in a single product. Made up of several distinct layers, each component contributes to the overall performance.

    1. The top protective layer, known as the wear layer, is designed to resist scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear. This feature helps the floor maintain its appearance over time.
    2. Beneath the wear layer sits a high-definition printed film that realistically replicates the look of natural timber.
    3. The core is formed from a rigid SPC (Stone Plastic Composite), providing strength, dimensional stability, and impact resistance. This layer is also what makes hybrid flooring fully waterproof. The composition of the core determines the specific type and performance characteristics of the hybrid floor.
    4.  Most hybrid flooring includes a pre-attached underlay on the underside of each plank, enhancing acoustic performance while adding comfort underfoot.
